The Wolters-Batey Building

Upon opening in 1905 this building housed the Wolters and Batey Hardware Store and was referred to in the local newspapers as "the finest hardware store in Michigan". The store also sold mill and vessel supplies, leather and rubber belting, hose, pipe, saw tools, as well as glasses and plates. The building would later be home to the Vincent and Wolters Co. Hardware Store, Madison's clothing Store, Gambles and Dave's True Value.
