About

Built in the 1870s, this home is named after the owners of the dwelling who would live there roughly 50 years later. Arriving in Manistee from Rockford, Ill., father and son, Gustave and Arthur Falleen, purchased the Manistee Drop Forge company in 1924 after it had sat idle for two years. The drop forge was renamed Falleen Drop Forge and continued to operate for several decades under the family name. Gustave Falleen and his wife occupied this home for several years. This Second Empire home is one of the few examples of this style which still has a mansard roof.
