This was the site for Jenkins-White Furniture Company which also offered undertaking, a common practice in the early 1900's. On February 6, 1909, Palisade's first real fire destroyed much of the single story building. In 1910, the existing structure was erected and reopened for business. Before the end of Prohibition, Jimmy Marotta began operating the Palisade Cigar Store. More commonly called the "pool hall", the back of the store hosted card games, especially Pitch. In the early 1940s, Dominic Malatche purchased the Cigar Store and Marotta continued to operate the adjacent Palisade Liquor Store. The Malatche family lived upstairs until they sold the business to Karl Miller in 1961. The Van Landingham family owned and operated the Livery from 1988 to 2019. Between the Livery and 235 S. Main Street was a wooden building which housed the Honey Toast Bakery, a shoe repair store, and Harold Hamilton's store and then vacant for decades.
