The Herbert "Grant" and Edith "May" Crissey home was built in 1908. Although the house is classified as Classic Cottage or Neoclassic eclectic cottage, there are some significant variations. Most notable is the wood frame, the flared walls, the diamond upper sash and the cobblestone chimneys which are common features of Craftsman bungalows. H.G. Crissey was instrumental in creating the Stub ditch, was a Palisades National Bank executive, managed the United Fruit Growers Association, and was elected mayor in 1918. His many contributions to Palisade as well as the home's architectural integrity qualified this home for placement on both the Colorado and National Registers of Historical Sites in 2002 and 2003.
