About this tour
A self-guided walking tour through the heart of Windsor, the Birthplace of Vermont. Beginning at the Old Constitution House — where the Vermont Constitution was signed in 1777 — this loop links twelve landmarks within a few flat, walkable blocks of Main and State streets: the precision-manufacturing armory now home to the American Precision Museum, the longest covered bridge in the United States, Asher Benjamin's Old South Church, a library designed by the architect of the Lincoln Memorial, Vermont's first state prison, and more. Adapted from the architectural and historical walking tour prepared by Historic Windsor, Inc.
