Designed between 1820 and 1822 by Alexander Parris, an associate of influential Boston architect Charles Bulfinch, this early Greek Revival church recalls the Greek temple form with an entrance portico supported by Ionic columns. Its striking stained glass windows were donated by statesman William M. Evarts in 1862, and the bell tower was re-gilded in 2009.
