Erected by Luther Mills in 1806, this Federal-style house was later home to Carlos Coolidge (1792-1866), a patent attorney who served as governor of Vermont from 1848 to 1850. Coolidge spent his entire life in Windsor, leaving only to earn degrees at Middlebury College. The house shows successive Gothic Revival and Italianate updates, including a paired entrance door, scroll-sawn porch details, French doors, and bay windows.
