About
The "Eastern Gateway to Vermont," this 500-foot span across the Connecticut River links Windsor with Cornish, New Hampshire. The fourth bridge on the site, it uses lattice trusses adapted from an 1820 design by architect Ithiel Town and is the longest covered bridge surviving in the United States. It was named a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1970 and listed on the National Register in 1976.
