Did You Know?
- At 500 feet, it is the longest covered bridge surviving in the United States.
- It is the fourth bridge on the site; the previous three were destroyed by floodwaters.
- Its two spans use lattice trusses adapted from an 1820 design by architect Ithiel Town.
- It was named a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1970 and listed on the National Register in 1976.
